Summary
- I have worked for over 20 years in the NYC region caring for children with congenital heart disease, cardiomyopathy and advanced heart failure serving as a resource to help care for and educate the population of families with these conditions. As Director of Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Therapies, I lead the medical team during the first pediatric heart transplant in the Bronx.
I have experience in the conduct of multi-center registry studies that began when I became a member of the Pediatric Heart Transplant Study/Society in 1998. I am currently the Scientific Committee Chair of the Society. I have been part of the NIH/NHLBI funded Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Registry and have participated in many studies defining cardiomyopathy in children.
My areas of clinical focus include cardiomyopathy, heart failure and transplantation, heart failure, myocarditis, muscular dystrophies, metabolic disorders affecting the heart, and Congenital Heart Disease.
