He was a former assistant professor and medical attending physician at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Mount Sinai Queens. He has published multiple research studies, articles and abstracts as well as co-authorship of a book chapter focused in cardiology and cardiovascular disease; he was recognized as a top internal medicine practitioner and cardiovascular research fellow in 2015. Dr. Pena has over 14 years of experience of practicing medicine in the US in the community of Manhattan, and the Bronx and has decided over 10 years of his life to humanitarian missions abroad.
