He completed his medical training at INTEC university in Santo Domingo, DR and further advanced his studies through internships and residencies at New York Medical College and Metropolitan Hospital of NY. Dr. Pena also undertook a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is currently President and founder of Doctors In The Heights and CEO of Northern Manhattan Medical PC. H holds positions as a board Member of the Dominican Medical and Dental Society of NY and academic director of their National Medical symposiums. He was a former assistant professor and medical attending physician at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Mount Sinai Queens. He has published multiple research studies, articles and abstracts as well as co-authorship of a book chapter focused in cardiology and cardiovascular disease; he was recognized as a top internal medicine practitioner and cardiovascular research fellow in 2015. Dr. Pena has over 14 years of experience of practicing medicine in the US in the community of Manhattan, and the Bronx and has decided over 10 years of his life to humanitarian missions abroad.
