Summary
- Dr. Cronenwett is Professor of Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. He was Chair of the Section of Vascular Surgery at DHMC from 1984-2007. He received his B.S degree from the University of Michigan, his M.D. from Stanford University, did general surgery residency at the University of Michigan and vascular fellowship at the University of Tennessee. He is Past-President of the New England Society for Vascular Surgery, the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery, and the Society for Vascular Surgery. He is a past-member of the Residency Review Committee for Surgery of the ACGME. He is Editor Emeritus of the Journal of Vascular Surgery and Editor of Rutherford’s Vascular Surgery Textbook, 7th and 8th Edition. His research interests involve abdominal aortic aneurysms, outcome analysis, and quality improvement in vascular surgery. Since 2002 he has served as Medical Director of the Vascular Study Group of New England, a regional cooperative quality improvement project involving 30 hospitals in CT, MA, ME, NH, RI and VT. He currently serves as Medical Director of the Society for Vascular Surgery Patient Safety Organization, a consortium of 250 hospitals organized into 15 regional groups that share clinical data to improve vascular healthcare. Dr. Cronenwett is listed in “Who’s Who in America,” “Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare,” “Who’s Who in American Education,” and “The Best Doctors in America.” He has published over 250 peer-reviewed articles, books and book chapters, and delivered more than 300 scientific presentations.
