  • Ira A. Parness, MD is Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Echocardiography at Cohen's Children's Medical Center - Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Touro College and his M.D. cum laude from SUNY- Downstate. After his pediatric and chief residency at Brookdale Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, he completed pediatric cardiology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School where, from 1985-1992, he served as a Pediatric Cardiology attending and director of pediatric heart transplantation. Subsequently, Dr. Parness served as director of pediatric echocardiography and then Chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Kravis Children's Hospital at Mount Sinai at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he also held the Richard J. Golinko Endowed Professorship.
