Summary
- I am a board certified nephrologist with experience in both academic and private practice settings. My interest is to provide the best possible treatment for every patient I see. I firmly believe that in addition to knowledge and experience, listening to the patient, paying attention to detail in history and record review, and a meticulous physical exam constitute the most important elements in reaching a correct diagnosis and finding an appropriate therapy. I am particularly interested in treating the disadvantaged. My clinical interests include difficult to control hypertension, the cardiorenal syndrome, electrolyte and acid-base disorders, acute kidney injury, drug nephrotoxicity and dosing in renal disease, and dialysis. I also believe that teaching, research and scholarly work are important, not only in disseminating knowledge, but also in improving one's own knowledge to be used for the benefit of patients. Treating patients with real compassion, dedication, integrity, and with sound knowledge are the cornerstones of a physician's mission.
