Summary

I am a board certified geriatrician at UC San Diego. I serve as the primary geriatric medicine consultant for UC San Diego's Senior Behavioral Health unit and am the medical director of the geriatric medicine consult service. As a geriatrician, my aim is to focus on every patient's quality of life, optimizing their time spent at home, out of the hospital and living life to the fullest. My expertise is in the care of patients with memory and cognitive problems, particularly with regard to behavioral disturbance management, with a focus on polypharmacy and medication side-effects, with additional expertise in geriatric syndromes including but not limited to falls, incontinence, constipation, and frailty. I also have expertise in end of life planning. I have a love of patient care as well as teaching, and spend much of my day working with medical students, residents, and fellows to further the knowledge base of geriatric medicine amongst our colleagues. I also am a member of the Alzheimer's Project of San Diego's expert consultant board.
