Summary
- Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center and has been a member of the department for over 25 years, with subspecialty interests include in pituitary tumors, neurofibromatosis and meningioma biology. At MD Anderson, I have built a pituitary tumor program that now includes 5 endocrinologists and the pituitary caseload now exceeds 100 patients annually. I also serves as primary surgeon for the institutional program in von Hippel-Lindau disease. My laboratory research has focused on the biology of meningiomas, and have maintained a parallel interest in surgical strategies for treating patients with neurofibromatosis. I have lectured nationally and internationally on these and other topics relevant to Neurosurgery, and has published over 165 papers and over 35 book chapters.
