Overview of Dr. Lowe-Shin

Hyesoo Lowe, MD is the Medical Director of the Columbia Thyroid Center, a multidisciplinary academic practice focused on the management of thyroid conditions. She also co-directs the Thyroid Biopsy Program. She is a board certified Endocrinologist with advanced training in thyroid ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsy. She has a special interest in thyroid disorders including thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, autoimmune thyroid disease, and thyroid illnesses in pregnancy. She also leads the Active Surveillance Program for low risk thyroid cancers at Columbia.

After graduating from Weill Cornell Medical College, she completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine, and a Fellowship in Endocrinology at Columbia University Medical Center. She is a member of the American Thyroid Association, the Endocrine Society, and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and is active in medical education at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr Lowe has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for the New York metro area, listed in Castle Connolly's Exceptional Women in Medicine, featured among New York Magazine Top Doctors, and New York Times SuperDoctors.

Dr. Lowe is proficient in Korean and Spanish.
