Summary
- I am an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the UCF College of Medicine, a neonatologist in a level- 4 neonatal ICU at the Advent Health for Children in Orlando. I am director of BPD and home ventilation programs and co-chair of the Pediatric Scientific Operational & Administrative Review (SOAR) Committee.
With broader clinical expertise to manage preterm infants born at the margins of viability (22 weeks and above) and other critically sick newborns, I provide advanced life support including ECMO. I am also trained to perform point of care ultrasound (POCUS) and targeted neonatal echocardiography (TnECHO). As a physician leader, I advocate for building stronger and collegial teams to accomplish academic excellence, outstanding clinical care, patient safety and family satisfaction.
I am American Board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal Medicine, graduate of physician leadership course at Advent Health and MBA from The College of Business @ University of Central Florida, Orlando. I am Fellow of the College of Physicians & Surgeons (2002) and fellow of the Royal College of Pediatrics & Child Health, London (2006).
My clinical research on neonatal hemodynamics, pulmonary hypertension, and BPD is published in peer reviewed journals and frequently cited. I am principal Investigator for multiple clinical studies including a randomized clinical trial to diagnose and treat early pulmonary hypertension in extremely preterm infants (https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03576885).
