Summary

  • I am a board certified emergency physician, with multiple leadership experiences, as three-time Chief of Medical Staff, Andersen AFB, Guam, Fairchild AFB, WA, and Dyess AFB, TX, and twice Medical Facility Commander, 15th Medical Group, Joint Base Pearl-Hickam, and 31st Medical Group, Aviano Air Base, Italy. As former medical board member, Disability Division, Air Force Personnel Center, I was introduced to the key mission readiness task of maintaining Fitness of the Force, through application of medical standards and policies governing retention, separation, and retirement actions. There experiences resulted in selection as Senior Medical Advisor, Secretary of the Air Force Personnel Council, and later Senior Medical Advisor to the Director, Air Force Review Boards Agency, where advisory opinions and recommendations were offered to correct errors or injustices in personnel actions that foreshortened a service member's career, or warranted an upgrade of service characterization, or a medical basis for separation or retirement.
