Summary

  • I am a Physician Double Boarded in Psychiatry and Family Medicine. I am combining these two specialties through integrated care in order to provide medical and mental health care in a holistic manner. My work also focuses on addressing health disparities in the severe mental illness and persistent mental illness population (SMI/SPMI). I provide full spectrum Family Medicine and Psychiatry services. My interests include teaching and training primary care providers in mental health. I am interested in global health, providing medical care to underserved, immigrant and refugee populations.

As a behavioral health director for our family medicine residency, I am involved in developing and implementing an integrated behavioral health model within primary care. I train, supervise and teach primary care residents in mental health and primary care, and also teach medical students.

My international work has focused on training primary care providers in mental health so that they can provide mental health care in resource poor settings.
