Summary
- As Chairman, Department of Radiology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Member of the Molecular Pharmacology and Chemistry Program at the Sloan-Kettering Institute, my research is focused on discovering minimally invasive methods for improving cancer detection, staging, treatment planning, and follow-up. I have been involved in MRI research since the emergence of the field in the 1980s and helped develop applications in ultrasound, MR, and CT for gynecological cancers as well as MR and MR spectroscopy for prostate cancer. I am currently the PI of NIH grants, an R25T training grant in molecular imaging and a grant in MR and MRS in prostate cancer. My work continues to focus on improving the understanding of cancer biology and developing imaging biomarkers through the use of advanced imaging techniques such as multi-parametric MRI, PET and optical imaging.
