Summary

• I am a board certified internist. I was in private practice for 8 years before transitioning into a medical director role with WellMed. In this position, I work with physicians across the Tampa area to help them transition from fee for service to value based care. I work with physicians specifically on coding and documentation accuracy to properly reflect the illness burden of their patient population, quality improvement, and cost efficiency strategies (population health management, identification and utilization of high value specialists and utilization of appropriate site of service, etc). One of my passions is helping specialists align more closely with their community physicians to help achieve the Triple Aim. In today’s value based care environment it’s important that we focus our efforts to improve patient outcomes, to reduce overall healthcare spend, while continuing to serve our patient population and community. I want to help drive this collaborative movement as more physicians move towards risk models and value-based contracts.
