Summary

• I entered the Air Force at age 17, I was trained as a medical technologist. I worked for 2 years in the inpatient wards of gastroenterology–oncology. I was promoted to Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of the CCU at a 1000 bed Medical Center. I was then transferred to the position of shift leader in an emergency room at a remote hospital on the California coast. I served for 1 year then I retrained into the Cardiopulmonary field where I worked for the next 6 years achieving the grade of Technical Sergeant–position titles: Director of Cardiopulmonary Phase 2 training at Travis Air Force Base/Master Instructor. I then completed physician assistant school through the Air Force in conjunction with the University of Nebraska. I graduated in 1991. I have been a practicing PA in multiple sub-specialties including multiple surgical rotations and remote/rural medicine. I am currently the Associate Medical Director at a FQAC on the California coast.
