Summary
- I am a double board certified plastic surgeon /also boarded in general surgery.Have been in active practice since 1989,in same location.Looking to travel and work /have been teaching residents and med students for almost 30 years..Still love what I do ! I have been asked “ if you had it to do over again what career would you choose?” Well I say this in all honesty and respect for all career paths : I would absolutely do all this again // the same way 5 years of general surgery and 3 of plastic surgery.I am grateful for the ability to impact lives for so many years in so many different ways and modalities.. I thank God everyday for allowing me to keep doing what I do at such a high level … I do not believe medicine is in decline it is just need of a reset/ so as more people can actually go to medical school and yes train to be surgeons without massive debt and taking career practice positions in places and groups that are not ideal for the surgeon but ………… will assist the new surgeon getting out of debt….?!!
WE ALL WORK SO LONG PASSIONATELY AND DILIGENTLY TO JUST SETTLE AT THE COMPLETION OF THE INITIAL SURGICAL JOURNEY… I see this too often when lecturing/ mentoring / sharing experiences with young surgeons… GOT TO RESET AND CHANGE THE SYSTEM OR THE PASSION GOES AWAY AND IS REPLACED WITH CYNICISM…
