- Dr. Angaramo is currently an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Chan School of Medicine and for the last seven years has served as Director of Regional Anesthesia Division and Perioperative Units at Umass Memorial Healthcare, a multi-specialty hospital and Level I trauma center in Worcester, MA. Dr. Angaramo obtained his MD degree in 1988 from Universidad de Buenos Aires with an Honor Diploma, completed a surgery a residency at the Hospital Britanico de Buenos Aires and 6 years of fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, MA. Later he completed his Anesthesiology residency in 2007 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Ohio and trained in Critical Care Medicine in Massachusetts General Hospital. He has been part of the University of Massachusetts Department of Anesthesiology and Peri-operative medicine for the last 17 years. He has extensively published and presented in the areas of Anesthesia, Surgery, Pain Medicine, and Critical Care at many national and international meetings. Outside the hospital, Dr. Angaramo is recognized nationally as a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiology by the ASA . He is involved in advocacy for the specialty of Anesthesiology and Critical Care and is currently a board-certified anesthesiologist by the ABA and a member of the Anesthesiology Section of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), both international organizations with over a thousand members interested in the development and growth of the specialty.
