- Gregg Pottorff, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon who for 32 years was based in Castro Valley, CA, with specialization in hip and knee reconstructive surgery, orthopedic sports medicine, and shoulder surgery. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery in 1991 at Stanford Health Care after graduating from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1986. He completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles in 1992. Dr. Pottorff has extensive experience in sports medicine, rotator cuff injuries, and surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. His research contributions include publications on the use of autologous blood in knee replacement and detection of vein thrombosis post-knee arthroplasty. He has been recognized as a Regional Top Doctor and achieved CMS Meaningful Use Stage 1 Certification.
