Summary

  • Prior to her current residency in ophthalmology at Stanford, Gina graduated from Harvard University and University of Michigan School of Medicine, while serving as the 2019-2020 Stanford Global Health Media Fellow and working with Dr. Sanjay Gupta at CNN to cover the COVID-19 pandemic. She believes the foundation for practicing good medicine derives from properly capturing the patient’s perspective, and she strives to emphasize the power of narrative and storytelling within medicine. Her passion is in advocating for the medically disenfranchised given her family's experience growing up without healthcare or income to support medical care. Her research interests are in ophthalmology and the development of cost-effective, innovative treatment and diagnostic strategies.
