- Dr. Gerald Shulman is a physician scientist and the George R. Cowgill Professor of Medicine and Cellular & Molecular Physiology at Yale School of Medicine and an Investigator Emeritus of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, and did his residency training in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center and fellowship training in endocrinology/metabolism at the Mass General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He has been in practice 38 years and specializes in diabetes and lipid metabolism.
