In 2014, Dr. Hajj was recruited to UnityPoint Health – Heart and Vascular Institute at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA, where he was the Medical Director of the Structural Heart Disease Program and Assistant Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine until 2020. During that time, he was a pioneer of complex and high-risk cardiac and vascular procedures. Under his leadership, he introduced many new procedures to the Cedar Rapids region and the state of Iowa, including Impella assisted complex coronary intervention, balloon aortic valvuloplasty for severe aortic stenosis, percutaneous closure of severe perivalvular regurgitation of prosthetic aortic valve, VenaSeal procedure for incompetent saphenous veins, intra-coronary laser atherectomy, Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and MitraClip procedure.
