Summary

  • I have been in the private practice of Anesthesiology since completion of my Cardiac Anesthesia Fellowship at UCLA in 1985. Initially, I spent one year in Reno, NV, performing all types of anesthesia and in 1987 was offered a position at Encino Hospital in Los Angeles doing primarily Cardiac Anesthesia. Since then, cardiac related work has composed 50% of my practice. I have performed anesthetics for all types of open heart surgery on over 2500 patients, as well as other interventions such as heart caths, PTCA's, EP studies and ablation procedures, defibrillators/pacemakers and ICU work. My staff position also involves delivering anesthesia for all types of surgical procedures, pediatric through adult. My administrative experience includes being Chairman of the Department of Anesthesia at Encino Hospital and Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center (later Providence Tarzana Cedars Sinai Medical Center) from 2000 - 2008 as well as Director of Cardiac Anesthesia Services from 1990 - 2020. I served as a Clinical Instructor at UCLA from 1985-87 in the Department of Anesthesiology. My other pursuits include evaluation and review of medical malpractice cases since 1991, including significant trials such as the John Ritter wrongful death case. My publications/ research include a chapter on Anesthesia Complications in Clinical Anesthesiology as well as articles on PTCA Complications and Exercise Physiology. Cutting back to 1/4 time, relocated permanently to Incline Village, NV; have active licenses in CA, NV, FL in order to perform occasional locums work.
