Summary
- Gary Frishman, MD, is a Clinical Professor at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University having completed a residency in Ob/Gyn and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
He has a passion for both education and surgery. He has lectured extensively on these topics having given invited talks throughout North America as well as on four other continents.
He served as the Brown Ob/Gyn residency program director for over 10 years and, subsequently, as the REI fellowship director. In addition to recognition from Brown, he has received national teaching awards from ACOG, CREOG, and twice from APGO. He completed a six-year term on the Review Committee for Obstetrics and Gynecology within the ACGME in addition to being on the working group for the Program Requirements for both the Obstetrics and Gynecology Milestones and Reproductive Endocrinology Milestones (and is the only physician to have served on both committees).
Dr. Frishman has held multiple leadership positions in surgical societies and journals having served on the boards of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) a 7000+ member organization with representation from over 100 countries, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. He was President of the Society for Reproductive Surgeons as well as President of AAGL. He served as the American representative on the International Editorial Board for the UK journal The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and was Deputy Editor for the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology for 10 years before assuming the role of co-Editor-in-Chief in 2023.
