Summary
- After 12 years of General Practice, particularly almost 10 among the Tarahumara Indians, and a brief period in cultural research with the Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua, I was accepted by the Residency Training Program in Psychiaty at the School of Medicine of the University of New Mexico.So I moved to Albuquerque. From there I moved to McAllen, Texas where I have practiced general and geriatric psychiatry from 1987 until today. During this time I have published several books including Rarajipari, the Tarahumara Indian Kick-ball Race; Alzheimer's Disease a Primer for Caregivers, Santiago el Hermano del Senor (a novel) and the latest (with Alfonso Paredes) Tarahumara Medicine, Ethnobotany and Healing among the Raramuri of Mexico.
