- Doctor Gross is a Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude graduate of Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri. He also graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine, which he attended as a member of the prestigious Scholars Program in Medicine, and where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical school academic honorary society. Doctor Gross completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and completed a Fellowship Program at Harvard University’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to his busy clinical practice, Doctor Gross has published articles on glaucoma and written textbook chapters on both glaucoma surgery and infections affecting the eye. Doctor Gross is also actively involved in the Ophthalmology Residency Program at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Doctor Gross has performed over ten thousand cataract and glaucoma surgeries, making him one of the most experienced surgeons in Eastern Virginia. Along with his partners at Mid-Atlantic Eyecare, he is pleased to offer state of the art computerized diagnostic technology, modern laser therapies, and the newest lens implants to help his patients maintain and improve their vision. Doctor Gross also diagnoses and treats diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, eye infections, double vision, dry eye, and eye injuries. As part of his commitment to excellence in ophthalmology, Doctor Gross teaches both cataract and glaucoma surgery to the EVMS Ophthalmology Residents at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hampton Virginia. In addition, he is an active member of the Lions Club, which provides free eye examinations and eye glasses to indigent patients.
