- Dr. Frederick “Ricky” Friedman is a Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and serves as Vice Chair of Academic Affairs and Director of Appointments and Promotions. HE also is the Director of Obstetrics & Gynecology at E:mhurst Hospital Center. Previously he has held the positions of Director for both the Division of Obstetrics and the Division of Generalists in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at the Mount Sinai Health System. Additionally, he has served as Director of Medical Student Education and Director of Resident Research.
Dr. Friedman maintains a clinical faculty practice in general obstetrics and gynecology and plays an active role in the education of medical students and residents. He is the recipient of the National CREOG Award for Resident Education and has received additional accolades for his educational and clinical efforts.
Dr. Friedman received his Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and earned his medical doctorate from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where he was awarded the Ronge Prize for Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Upon completion of his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, Dr. Friedman joined Mount Sinai’s full-time faculty.
Dr. Friedman has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and has authored textbook chapters concerning both obstetrical and gynecologic topics.
