Summary
- Laid back 85-year-old man, happy and content with accomplishments of yesterdays and the satisfying today's and eager to find out what I'll learn in the tomorrows. If a day goes by in which I've not learned something new, it was wasted. I enjoy family and friends, young and old, and never turn down an opportunity to hear Mozart or sample a new craft beer.
A graduate of Indiana University, I earned an A.B. degree in Anatomy and Physiology and served as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant in Physiology before entering the School of Medicine. After receiving the M.D. degree (honors, Alpha Omega Alpha), I received post-doctoral training in
* General Surgery (Indiana University Medical Center)
* Trauma Surgery (State University of New York Downstate Medical Center)
* Nephrology (New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center)
I was appointed to the Faculty of the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1962, retiring as Associate Professor of Medicine, Physiology & Biophysics and Instructor in Orthopedic Surgery (Trauma). I recently retired from the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Robert M. Palmer, M.D. Institute of Biomechanics.
