- Dr. Lima is a fellow in the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University's Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program. He operates within the Rhode Island Hospital and Miriam Hospital's cardiac catheterizaiton laboratories and ORs.
His clinical and research areas focus on percutaneous coronary interventions, structural heart interventions (aortic valve replacement, mitral valve repair and replacement, patent foramen ovale closure, and left atrial appendage occlusion), alternative access, shock, and heart disease in pregnancy. Dr. Lima is actively working on several projects using artifical intelligence, big data systems, and digital health to optimize patients' cardiovascular health and wellness. One of his main areas of interest is innovation in structural heart interventions and coronary interventions.
Dr. Lima has been extensively involved in clinical/translational cardiovascular research since 2007. He is actively involved in the American College of Cardiology's Innovation Section and is a member of the Section's Leadership Council and Future Hub Task Force. He currently sits on the editorial board of the International Journal of Angiology and Vascular Surgery and is a reviewer for other cardiovascular journals.
Dr. Lima attended medical school at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University where he also obtained degrees in Pharmacology and Public Health (Evaluative Sciences and Practice). He has graduated from Brown University's Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship.
