- Ezequiel Jesus Molina, MD is the Surgical Director of the LVAD and Heart Transplant Program at the Piedmont Heart Institute in Atlanta, GA. He completed his training in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center, where he served as a clinical instructor, focusing on cardiac transplantation and ventricular assist device support. Currently he leads one of the busiest LVAD programs in the country. He is proficient in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, and specializes in surgery for heart failure, surgical coronary revascularization, valve surgery and surgical therapies for acute cardiogenic shock. Dr. Molina publishes and presents extensively in his field at national and international meetings. He is also a reviewer for a number of prestigious medical publications. Dr. Molina serves a member of the STS-INTERMACS Database Task Force. He recently led the Writing Group of the 2020 STS-INTERMACS Annual Report. He is also a member of the Special Report Writing Group. In addition, he serves as a member of the Participant User File Research Program for the STS-INTERMACS Registry. Dr. Molina has been PI or Sub PI in several LVAD trials. He is fluent in Spanish.
