Summary
- Originally a DC native, Dr Hoffman's interest in medicine began in High School when she joined the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, getting certified as an Emergency Medical Technician at the age of 17. She then attended Brown University obtaining a BA in Economics, and continued her training at Brown University Medical School. She completed her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore MD. Dr Hoffman elected for an additional year of training in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the largest regional referral center for acute spinal cord injury patients. She has additional training in robotic spine surgery as well as minimally invasive and motion preserving surgical techniques. In her spare time she is an avid runner, having completed 5 marathons, in addition to her favorite local races including the Cherry Blossom 10 mile, and the Bethesda Turkey Chase.
