• As the Chief Medical Officer at Ariadne Labs, a Center for Health Systems innovation at Harvard, I provide oversight, guidance, and support to Ariadne Labs research faculty, ensuring that our findings are supported by rigorous evidence and result in meaningful change. I participate in public health research and work with individuals to enhance faculty research. In addition, I work in close collaboration with Ariadne's founder, Dr. Atul Gawande, to develop Ariadne’s strategic partnerships, and to raise our profile as a global leader in health systems innovation. www.ariadnelabs.org.   Prior to becoming CMO at Ariadne Labs, I was Senior Vice President for Population Health and Quality, Baystate Health, a $2B revenue integrated delivery system in Massachusetts where I oversaw clinical quality, patient safety, population health, infection control, a 100 physician primary care practice, and Information Technology for the 5 hospital system. I spent 20 years at Baystate Health where I was responsible for bringing reliability and efficiency to the health system using modern tools of improvement science. At Baystate, I was full professor of medicine at Tufts University School
  
  I am faculty at Harvard Medical School where I teach and am active in scholarly research in healthcare delivery. I speak and consult nationally on issues related to improving healthcare delivery. I am faculty for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) where I teach leadership and improvement and sits on numerous national boards and healthcare panels. I had been on the Board of Mercy Health, OH (formerly Catholic Health Partners), and committees for the National Academy of Medicine, Premier Inc, the American Hospital Association, CMS, The Mass. Medical society and others.
  
  I founded the Center for Quality of Research at Baystate/Tufts University in 2006 and helped to establish TechSpring, the Health IT Innovation Center in 2014. www.techspringhealth.org
