  • EDUCATION - PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
    Ernesto P. Molmenti.(EPM) completed college and medical school at Boston University (MMEDIC early admission program, Summa Cum Laude). Member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha. He did his residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital - Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and his fellowship in adult and pediatric abdominal organ transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh. Post fellowship he joined Baylor University Medical Center and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. While in Texas, he performed adult and pediatric liver transplants and adult kidney transplants. EPM then was recruited by The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as Associate Professor of Surgery and Surgical Director of Kidney/Pancreas Transplantation. There he obtained his MBA degree. Prior to joining Hofstra-Northwell, he was Professor of Surgery and Director of Abdominal Transplantation at the University of Arizona. In Arizona, he re-built the adult and pediatric liver programs, the adult and pediatric kidney programs, and the adult pancreas program. At Northwell Health, EPM founded the adult (2007) and pediatric (2016) kidney transplant programs. During his leadership, the adult kidney transplant program was rated No. 1 in the United States in 2022 for 1-year survival of transplant recipients (transplants from July 2018 to December 2020), and in 2024 for both 90-day patient survival and 3-year living-donor transplant survival (transplants from January 2021 to June 2023) by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR).
    In 2024 EPM was named Chief of Transplantation at Renown Health (to establish a new Transplant Program in Reno, Nevada), Executive Director of the Renown Transplant Institute, Executive Vice President and Director of the Nevada Transplant Institute (encompassing the entire state of Nevada), and Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno.
