Summary
- Dr. Nottmeier graduated from Truman State University Summa Cum Laude in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He obtained his M.D. degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1995. Dr. Nottmeier stayed at the University of Missouri for his neurosurgical residency, which he completed in 2001. After a one-year complex spinal surgery fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, he joined the Mayo Clinic Florida staff in 2002. He subsequently spent 10 years at Mayo Clinic Florida until his departure to the St. Vincent’s Spine and Brain Institute in 2012. During his 10-year tenure at Mayo Clinic Florida, Dr. Nottmeier attained the rank of Associate Professor of Neurosurgery. He returned to Mayo Clinic Florida in January 2018 to continue his academic career. Dr. Nottmeier’s clinical and research interest include complex spinal surgery, as well as image-guided and robotic spinal surgery.
