Summary
- I obtained my undergraduate degree at the University of California, San Diego and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering in 2007. I obtained my medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. I completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Cincinnati, a fellowship in pediatric radiology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital & Medical Center, and a 2nd fellowship in pediatric cardiac radiology at Texas Children's Hospital. I worked for a couple years as pediatric radiologist at Nationwide Children's Hospital with title of assistant professor at Ohio State University, before moving west to California. I am now a pediatric radiologist and assistant professor at UC Davis.
In addition to my clinical duties which are focused on providing the best patient centered care, I have also contributed my time and efforts to doing research, quality improvement, and serving as a professor, clinical consult, and supervisor providing education to residents, clinical staff, and technologists. I have been invited multiple times to lecture at national conferences with topics focused on advanced radiological imaging of the heart, and I have also published peer-reviewed research which has been published in various professional journals.
I am interested in research involving medical imaging systems, especially MRI and CT. Of particular interest are technical aspects of imaging, including sequences, acquisition techniques, reconstruction methods, image processing, segmentation, registration, signal and noise estimation, denoising, machine learning, neural networks, computer vision, and feature detection. I am interested in the translation of this research into improved diagnostics and practical pediatric and cardiac imaging applications.
