Summary
- Dr. Eon Shin is proud to be part of the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center, which focuses exclusively on care of the upper extremity, including the elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand. All of the physicians of the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center are sub-specialty trained in upper extremity surgery and provide an advanced level of care commensurate with their elite training. The Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center is the only group in Bucks county to provide this level of service for upper extremity pathology and trauma.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate from Harvard University with a B.A. in Biochemical Sciences, Dr. Shin completed his M.D. at Yale University School of Medicine and worked part-time as a research associate for a biomechanics laboratory within the Orthopaedic Surgery department.
He subsequently completed his internship in general surgery and a residency in Orthopaedic surgery at UCLA Medical Center. He concluded his education with fellowship training in hand surgery at the Harvard Combined Hand Fellowship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Shin's practice focuses on all aspects of treatment from the elbow down to the fingertips. His medical interests encompass all pathology; however, he is especially interested in the treatment and reconstruction of wrist problems and traumatic injuries to the upper extremities (hand, wrist, arm and elbow). He routinely lectures on these topics, including grand rounds presentations as a visiting professor to other academic institutions.
