Summary

  • I received my MD degree from Rush Medical College and did my residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center.
I was on the attending staff at RUMC for 14 years and I advanced to become an assistant professor of Medicine. During my tenure at Rush, I helped organize the Section of General Internal Medicine and became the vice chair of that section within the Department of Medicine. In addition to my work at RUMC, I had a robust outpatient practice located in Oak Park, Illinois.
In 1995 I accepted a position at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, IL initially for the sole purpose of organizing an outpatient residency training program. That task required establishing a three-year curriculum in outpatient primary care medicine for the Internal Medicine residents. I also served as Medical Director for a five-person primary care Internal Medicine practice in River Forest, IL. During my ten years at West Suburban Hospital, I served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the West Suburban College of Nursing from 2000-2005, I chaired the hospital’s Quality Assurance Committee, I was co-investigator for a three-year, $500,000 National Institute of Health grant aimed at improving the quality of residency training programs in divergent areas of medicine including HIV medicine, public health, behavioral medicine, geriatric medicine, and community outreach.
In 2005 I accepted a position as medical director at Sedgebrook Retirement Community, a continuing care retirement community, in Lincolnshire, IL. I remained medical director for 16 years for both the outpatient practice and the skilled nursing facility that was attached.
I am married with one son and enjoy cycling, cooking, wine and singing in a barbershop chorus.
