Summary
- A native of Westbury, New York, Dr. Sterenfeld received his undergraduate education from Princeton University and a Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. His post-doctoral training included one year of General Surgery internship, a three-year residency in Physiatry and an additional year of fellowship in Interventional Spine Care, all at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Since completing his formal training in 1995, Dr. Sterenfeld has practiced Spine and Sports Medicine in academic and private practice settings. Throughout his clinical career, Dr. Sterenfeld has served as teacher and mentor to medical students, residents and colleagues. His practice has focused on the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of spine-related pain and dysfunction, as well as joint, muscle and nerve pain in athletes and non-athletes.
Dr. Sterenfeld, his wife, Betsey, and their two children have lived in Lancaster since December, 2000. Dr. Sterenfeld enjoys participating in Lancaster's vibrant performing arts community, occasionally as a singer and actor, and often as an appreciative audience member. He currently serves as President of the Board of Trustees of the Fulton Theater.
