Summary
- My early career in pediatric practice was followed by lengthy work with the Army in malaria drug development and testing in Asia and Africa. I worked for sometime conducting clinical trials of developmental vaccines and managing BSL-4 exposures at the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases. Currently, I am Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Children of Uganda, an organization that supports the education of children in rural Uganda, all of whom are impoverished, and many of whom are orphaned as a result of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Uganda or infected by HIV.
