She completed her medical degree at Harvard Medical School in 1988, followed by an internship in Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy. Additionally, she earned an MPH in Quantitative Methods from Harvard School of Public Health. She is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and an Endowed Professor of Radiation Oncology at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
