Summary

  • I am a general neurologist and physician scientist at Gonzaba Medical Group in San Antonio, TX, where I serve as both General Neurologist and Associate Director of Research & Education. My clinical practice includes procedural expertise in botulinum toxin therapy for migraine and spasticity, occipital nerve blocks, and lumbar punctures, as well as consultative support in neuroimaging.

In my academic roles, I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Neurology and Lead Medical Spanish Instructor at UT Health San Antonio, where I develop curriculum and mentor students in neuroscience, neuroimaging, and culturally competent care.

I hold an MD with Distinction in Medical Humanities and a PhD in Radiological Sciences: Neuroscience Imaging. My research spans aging, metabolic brain health, language access, and integrative medicine, with over a dozen publications and several ongoing collaborations with academic and community partners.

Before medicine, I taught dual-language elementary school; an experience that continues to inspire my work in education, health equity, and mentorship.
