Summary
- I am a board certified endocrinologist and have had an interest in endocrinology since my second year at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and this interest has continued to grow. I enjoy practicing general endocrinology, but I probably enjoy treating type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus most. I have also developed an interest in treating diabetes mellitus in pregnancy (type 1, type 2, and gestational). I have a passion for providing personalized patient care and get to know each one of my patients. I am a certified insulin pump trainer and believe that advancing technology is greatly beneficial in the treatment of diabetes mellitus. Because of my fellowship training at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, I also have an interest in diagnosing and treating bone disorders such as osteoporosis and osteogenesis imperfecta. My clinical research was in vitamin D metabolism. I am an avid reader and strive to keep up-to-date with the current literature in order to provide my patients with cutting-edge care. I enjoy both inpatient and outpatient endocrinology. I have been a clinical endocrinologist until now, but I also enjoy the academic setting. I cannot imagine myself doing anything but practicing endocrinology.
