- Dr. Edward Cowen is a dermatologist based in Rockville, MD, with a focus in medical dermatology. He completed his medical education and residency training at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and the University of Rochester. He then completed a Fellowship in Clinical Research at the National Cancer Institute. Since 2002, he has been practicing at DermAssociates and serving as Chief of the Dermatology Consultation Service at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. He has >200 publications with recent publications on COVID-19-related autoimmune skin diseases and skin manifestations of VEXAS Syndrome. Additionally, Dr. Cowen is involved in clinical trials exploring treatments for various skin conditions. He is former Vice President of the American Board of Dermatology and currently serves on multiple Journal Editorial Boards.
