- Eduardo Ortiz, MD, MPH is the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center and Professor, Mercer University School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine. Previously, he served as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System in Nashville, TN; Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Medicine; and Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
He received his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia, later completing a fellowship in medical informatics, general internal medicine, and health services research at the University of Utah and Salt Lake City VA Medical Center, where he also received a master's degree in public health. He is an internist with nationally recognized expertise in quality of care and patient safety, evidence-based medicine, guideline development, clinical informatics, health services research, and public health.
