• Dr. Donald Shifrin is a pediatrician based in Mercer Island, WA, with a long-standing commitment to pediatric care and education. Becoming a memebr of AOA as a Junior, he graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1974.He then completed a 3year residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital Los Angeles serving one additional year as Chief Resident. Dr. Shifrin has served as a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics Emeritus at the University of Washington School of Medicine since 2007 and has been an attending physician at Seattle Children's Hospital since 1978. He has also held a position as Chief of Pediatrics at Overlake Medical Center. He atteneded there from 1978-2015. Dr. Shifrin has contributed with publications in JAMA Pediatrics and other medical journals, and has been recognized with honors such as the AAP Holroyd-Sherry Award, Who's Who in Medicine, and being named a Regional Top Doctor. He was the voice of the AAAP's Minute for Kids on WBBM radio in Chicago from1999-2022. He had a weekly live pediatric news segment from 2017-2021 on Seattle's NBC television affilaite KING5.
