Summary
- Dr. Donald Liss is an experienced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist who has a true passion for helping patients overcome physical distress, regain function, and improve their quality of life. Over the course of his career, Donald has benefited from a variety of clinical and academic opportunities that have allowed him to hone his skills in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
In 1986 Donald Liss and his brother, Howard, opened the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center. The PMR Center currently has five locations in New Jersey and New York. Dr. Liss and his team of 30 therapists and over 10 doctors specialize in diagnosing spine, orthopedic, sports, and neuromuscular conditions. The PMR Center emphasizes non-operative treatment options such as physical therapy and patient education. When a condition does require surgery, though, Dr. Liss and his physicians work closely with surgeons.
In addition to his work at the PMR Center, Dr. Liss serves as the Attending Physician for the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. Additionally, he has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at Columbia University for over three decades.
Over the years Donald Liss has been recognized for his hard work. He was selected as a Jersey Monthly Top Doctor, Inside Jersey Top Doctor, and a New York Magazine Best Doctor in New York.
Outside of work, Dr. Liss is an avid traveler. He especially enjoys traveling throughout the United States. In fact, he has visited every state in the country. He hopes to one day visit every national park as well. Dr. Liss loves the outdoors and believes in protecting the environment.
Donald Liss believes in the importance of philanthropy, and he feels grateful for any opportunity to help others in his local community and around the globe. In particular, he enjoys supporting the United Jewish Appeal and the National Park Service.
