Summary
- I am a Board Certified, Fellowship Trained, Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon with 30 years of active-duty military experience. I currently serve as an Orthopedic Consultant to Naval Special Warfare and Senior Orthopedic Sports Surgeon at Naval Hospital, Jacksonville, FL.
I Attended the University of Florida on a baseball scholarship, and spent three years as a minor league pitcher in the Chicago White Sox organization. After a career ending shoulder injury, I attended The Uniformed Services University, F. Edward Hebert Medical School in Bethesda, MD, on a military scholarship.
Orthopedic Residency Training was completed at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA, followed by an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Methodist Sports Medicine Center, Indianapolis, IN (Indiana University). During fellowship, I had the opportunity to assist in the care of High School, Collegiate (Purdue University, Indiana University, The University of Notre Dame), and Professional (Indianapolis Colts) athletes.
Shortly after 9/11, I returned to Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA, as Orthopedic Sports Medicine Staff. Additionally, I was tasked with developing a comprehensive Sports Medicine/Human Performance Program, mimicking a professional sports model for our Naval Special Warfare Tactical Athletes. I spent the majority of my career as the Orthopedic Sports Surgeon/Consultant to Naval Special Warfare Development Group (SEAL Team 6), as well as east coast teams two, four, eight, and ten.
I specialize in the non-surgical and surgical (Arthroscopic & Open) treatment of Orthopedic Sports Injuries to the Shoulder, Knee, Elbow and Ankle.
