Summary
- Excited to join the team at Christiana Care Health System in May 2019 in the practice of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine! I wanted to get back to what makes me happy - taking care of patients and establishing compassionate and trustful relationships with them. Christiana is a top rated healthcare system that invests in its people and I believe will help me continue to grow as a Physician and Educator in a modernized and supportive environment.
I was previously an experienced Regional Medical Director and Program Medical Director, formerly with Sound Physicians Critical Care and The Intensivist Group. While in this leadership role, I maintained my practice at the bedside in a mixed medical/surgical/cardiac surgery/neurosurgery critical care unit and believe that the best clinical leaders never lose touch with the patient-physician relationship that defines the practice of Medicine and Surgery.
Leveraging my knowledge of clinical bedside care and financial operations in ICUs, I provided focused consultation to hospital clients through The Intensivist Group and Sound Critical Care which enabled the client to receive a neutral 3rd party assessment of their ICU operations as well as proposals for improving effectiveness and efficiency of both clinical and financial operations.
I am skilled in Healthcare Consulting, Critical Care, Pulmonary Disease, and Sleep Medicine, and have a rich history as a medical educator as I was the Program Director for an ACGME Transitional Year Residency and Director of Osteopathic Medical Education for 10 years at Mercy Catholic Medical Center. Maintaining a strong desire to investigate clinical initiatives and processes geared towards improving patient safety and improving quality of healthcare delivery in the ICU, I am actively involved in clinical research initiatives and still publish.
