Summary
- My career has focused on expanding mental healthcare access and delivering quality, evidence-based/informed care for underserved groups.
Implementing innovative models of care and providing clinical/administrative/quality oversight in my recent leadership roles as the Director of the Rapid Access Psychiatry Clinic at MGH and the inaugural Medical Director at Vinfen Community Behavioral Health Center through our MGH Visiting Program have been professionally enriching.
I have also worked extensively with immigrant populations in Dorchester, Chelsea and Lowell. While my contributions are modest, I was honored that work with immigrant and refugee groups was recognized with an Early Career Award from the World Psychiatric Association. I've also been able to facilitate support groups for the Indian Diaspora and healthcare providers in India during the pandemic, as well as facilitate cross cultural learning for Harvard Medical Students and supervise NP students and my peers. It's rewarding to nurture the next generation while also supporting my colleagues.
I currently practice in a primary care psychiatry clinic at MGH and MGH-Chelsea along with a small private practice with a special emphasis on offering second opinions, particularly diagnostic clarity and minimizing polypharmacy, and incorporating lifestyle interventions and spirituality into treatment plans. I also have a distinct focus on serving healthcare professionals and South Asian communities. This dual-pronged approach allows me to address a broad spectrum of mental health concerns while tailoring my services to specific populations and specialized areas of care.
I also offer administrative consulting services to behavioral health programs with a focus on program development, leadership strategies, training on trauma informed practices and microaggression in workplace, and quality improvement efforts.
