Dr. Nguyen strongly believes in a multi-disciplinary team approach, working closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists, nurses, dieticians, and patient navigators. He is committed to ensuring that each patient receives a customized individual treatment plan and providing every patient with the best opportunity for a cure while maintaining the highest quality of life. Because the diagnosis of cancer carries with it for many patients and their families profound emotional and physical challenges, Dr. Nguyen's goal is to help his patients and their families understand that they are not alone in their difficult journey.
Dr. Nguyen completed his internal medicine residency at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in 2007 and completed his oncology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2009. He has extensive experience with state-of-the art cancer treatment. Dr. Nguyen has authored and co-authored many articles in nationally recognized peer reviewed journals. He has served as Site Research Director and Site Principal Investigator for over 20 national cancer clinical trials. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Society of Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Nguyen’s leisure interests include gardening, playing basketball and tennis, and spending time with his family.
