Summary
- I am the medical director of the Deep Brain Stimulation Program at OHSU. As a movement disorders neurologist, I have a special interest in Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and other movement disorders. I completed my training at the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University, and at both institutions I was a member of their multidisciplinary DBS evaluation team.
I am a member of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) and of the Parkinson Study Group (PSG). I run a busy clinic at OHSU and am involved in several multicenter clinical trials. My research on the role of gastrointestinal dysfunction in individuals with Parkinson’s disease in whom there is a lack of a typical response to levodopa recently was awarded funding through the PSG.
