- I am a residency trained specialist in Emergency Medicine. While working as an ER physician at Cedars Sinai Med. Center.
I opened the first freestanding urgent care center in LA in 1983, and served as medical director for 20 years. In 1981 I created the concept of Jail Urgent Care Centers and designed LA County Jail's Urgent Care for then Jail Med. Director Dr. Toomajian. It was implemented in approx. 1984 and is believed to be the first Jail Urgent Care in USA but to date I have never seen it.
